A mission to develop a soleh child who is nurtured with taqwa and good akhlaq, knowledgeable in Islam and practices what he learns.
The aLIVE programs developed by the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS) is part of a continuous improvement effort towards excellence in part-time structured Islamic Education for the young.
It seeks to provide a national baseline Islamic Education curriculum for all young Muslims, aged 5 to 20 years old, to help them face life’s difficult challenges and remain true to their Muslim identity in a multi religious, multi ethnic society and globalized world.
Kids, Tweens, Teens and Youth aLIVE programs at Al-Istighfar Mosque have been actively reaching out to the residence of Pasir Ris and nearby neighbourhood children and teenagers. With almost 1000 students under the program at Al-Istighfar Mosque, the Education division strives to provide the best quality education that is relevant to the community and fulfils their needs.
“O my Lord! Make me one who establishes regular Prayer, and also (raise such) among my offspring. O our Lord, and accept thou my Prayer” – Surah Ibrahim : 40
The aLIVE programmes adopt a thematic approach to learning. Different themes appropriate for the different levels have been developed so that lessons can be delivered effectively. For example a topic on bulugh or preparation for puberty is briefly introduced at the age of 9 and is later discussed in detail at the age of 12 and revisited again at the age of 13. This is done so that appropriate topics can be introduced gradually at the different stages of a student’s life that increase in maturity and personal experiences.
